Wartime Love

Wartime Love During war time, way back in the year ’44 To New York came the sweetest country girl Who met a young man who she became to adore He too was smitten and hope she’d be his pearl During the war years, they dated and played. There two hearts grew in love to become one. A marriage in heaven was to be made. They were blessed with a daughter and a son. Through sixty years the couple would delight. With a strong white fire love, burning true Enduring times that were both dark and light. Their precious love never turning into blue. My great-grandparents’ love I do admire For my life, it is the one I do desire.

The True Faces

The True Faces By night, part of her is black- tired and full of failure mysterious and lugubrious Sitting in the dark of midnight. Midnight- the time of night when all mysteries show their faces. But by day, she is red- full of passion love and romance But tonight is different, she is passionate and loving romantic and caring This is an altered feeling- A feeling from the heart- A feeling she hopes to endure for eternity.

A Teenage Love

A Teenage Love
My teenage world is filled with you.

My heart is happy and light.

I hope you feel the same too.

Continuous talking on the phone we do

Until careless words come together that cause us to fight

My teenage world is filled with you.

My mind is wandering, excited, I have no clue

How to explain this happy time with you tonight.

I hope you feel the same way too.

Our young years bring issues that are not few.

Answers to those are not in our sight.

My teenage world is filled with you.

Without you, my love, my bright world would turn blue.

But I will not guard my feelings with all my might.

I hope you feel the same way too.

Teenage love! Some have no clue

Of its power and grasp that’s so tight.

My teenage world is filled with you.

I hope you feel the same way too.

"Our Deepest Fear" and "My Dream"

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world .
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

-Marianne Williamson

My Dream

I have dreams
Dreams to be upon those beams
Those beams which hold me above ground
The dream in which I found
was my destiny to be in the gym
To flip on the bars and stand on those beams.
That is my dream.
